Ontario Supporting Expanded Manufacturing in Harley

Harley, ON – Oct 11, 2016

Ontario is partnering with Stubbe’s Precast Commercial Inc. to invest in a new plant and innovative technologies, creating 58 jobs and retaining 216 positions in Harley.

Stubbe’s Precast manufactures structural and architectural precast concrete for residential, agricultural and commercial use. With support from the province, the company is investing in a highly automated 200,000 square feet plant which will speed up the production process, improve quality and consistency of finishes. The company’s products include hollow core flooring, structural wall panels, double tees, columns and beams. The new plant is set up for the production of structural walls.

The new equipment will also improve efficiency and reliability over current manual based systems, enhancing the company’s capacity to meet increasing customer demand.
Investing in manufacturing is part of our plan to create jobs, grow our economy and help people in their everyday lives.

“Ontario is building important strategic partnerships with job-creating businesses like Stubbe’s Precast to meet our government’s priority of growing the economy. Through this partnership, the province will continue to build a competitive business environment so we can grow a strong, innovative economy that provides jobs and prosperity for all Ontarians.” Brad Duguid, Minister of Economic Development and Growth.

“Stubbe’s Precast is a major employer in Harley and a leader in the province’s manufacturing sector. Our government is delighted to partner with them on this project that will help the company grow their presence in Ontario and expand into global markets, while bringing investment to the region and supporting the local economy.” Cristina Martins, PA for Minister of Economic Development and Growth.

“We are delighted to start this major expansion project in Harley. This support from the Ontario government complements our ongoing growth strategy. The project will give us the state-of-the-art space to increase production and the talent to develop and produce new innovative products that will help us compete and succeed.” Andy Stubbe, President, Stubbe’s Precast Commercial Inc.
