Biography
Andrée-Lise Méthot, Founding and Managing Partner, Cycle Capital Management (CCM)
Andrée-Lise is the Founder and Managing Partner of Cycle Capital Management (CCM), the most important cleantech venture capital platform in Canada with AUM of $355M.
She is the Founder and Chairperson of the Ecofuel Accelerator, co-Founder of the Ecofuel Fund and sits on the Board of Sustainable Development Technology Canada.
She is also a member of the Paris Green Fund’s strategic committee, the Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s New Energy Pioneers’s selection committee and the Cleantech Group’s North American Advisory Committee.
Named on the top 20 cleantech investors by CleanTechnica, she was named Clean16 and received tribute awards from the Association of Quebec Women in Finance, Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and the Ordre national du Québec.
Jim Balsillie, Co-Founder, Institute for New Economic Thinking
Jim Balsillie’s career is unique in Canadian business. He is a former Chairman and co-CEO of Research In Motion (BlackBerry), a Canadian technology company he scaled from an idea to $20 billion in sales globally.
He is a co-founder of the Institute for New Economic Thinking based in New York City and the Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI) based in Toronto. He currently chairs the Board of Directors of Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) and CCI. He is also the founder of the Centre for International Governance Innovation, the Balsillie School of International Affairs and Arctic Research Foundation and founding co-chair of the CIO Strategy Council.
Mr. Balsillie was the only Canadian ever appointed to US Business Council and the sole private sector representative on the UN Secretary General’s High Panel for Sustainability. He is the only Canadian member of the US Council on Competitiveness and an internationally renowned voice on innovation strategy, competitiveness and international economic policy. He testified to the US Senate on America Innovates Act, a landmark legislation for management of intellectual property.
His awards include: several honorary degrees, Canadian Business Hall of Fame, Mobile World Congress Lifetime Achievement Award, Time Magazine’s World’s 100 Most Influential People and three times Barron’s list of “World’s Top CEOs.
Louis Têtu, Chairman and CEO, Coveo
Louis is chairman and CEO of Coveo, a leading provider of AI SaaS platforms and applications for digital business personalization. Prior to Coveo, Louis co-founded Taleo, the leading international provider of cloud software for talent and human capital management, acquired by Oracle for $2B in 2012. Taleo was recognized as the 11th fastest-growing technology company in the U.S. by Deloitte Technology Fast 500 in 2004, prior to its NASDAQ IPO in 2005. Involved in private equity for technology and infrastructure projects, he is also chairman of the board of PetalMD, the leading cloud platform in the Canadian medical sector, and a board member of Industrial Alliance Financial Group and the Quebec City airport authority
