Biography:
Domenic Marino, National Deals Leader, PwC Canada
Domenic is the leader of PwC’s Canadian Deals practice which includes Valuations, Corporate Finance, Transaction Services, Business Recovery Services, Capital Projects and Infrastructure, Value Creation, and Forensics.
Domenic, based in Toronto, has over 20 years of advisory experience with PwC Canada and has extensive international experience, including two stints working with our PwC US firm in the Washington DC and NYC offices.
Domenic has worked with a variety of corporate and private equity clients on a range of Deals mandates including business valuations, value creation, fairness opinions, crisis management, corporate restructuring and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to his current role, Domenic was the leader of PwC’s Crisis Management practice where he led our restructuring and forensic services businesses.
Domenic graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Business Valuator.
David J. Skurka, Executive Vice President and Co-Head, Corporate & Investment Banking, National Bank
David Skurka is Executive Vice President and Co-Head, Corporate & Investment Banking at National Bank Financial. In his current role, David is responsible for the corporate lending business and the investment banking coverage teams providing financing and advisory services to corporations, financial sponsors, pension funds and governments across North America. He is a member of the National Bank Financial Markets Management Committee.
Prior to joining NBF, David was a Deputy Chair of Investment Banking at TD Securities and prior to that he was the Head of Global Investment Banking at Scotiabank including the M&A and Equity Capital Markets groups. With over 20 years of investment banking experience David has deep background in advisory and financial structuring with some of the largest and most complex transactions in Canadian history across a wide range of sectors.
David started his career specializing M&A in the Corporate Development department of a large global financial institution and worked in the Equity Research department of independent investment bank prior to joining Scotiabank.
David holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics and Political Science from McMaster University (summa cum laude) and an M.B.A. from the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto specializing in Finance. David has also completed an Executive Management training course at the Fuqua School of Management at Duke University.
Cornell Wright, Partner & Chair of Corporate Department, Torys LLP
Cornell is a leading corporate lawyer. He is the Chair of Torys’ Corporate Department and former co-head of the firm’s M&A Practice. His practice focuses on M&A transactions, both public and private, and other critical situations. He has played a lead role acting for some of Canada’s largest public and private companies on their most significant strategic matters, including advising Thomson Reuters, The Woodbridge Company, Weston group and Brookfield group.
Cornell has a broad range of experience in complex transactional, securities, family-controlled business, private equity, regulatory, governance, activism and compliance matters.
Cornell regularly counsels boards of directors and board committees on corporate governance matters, crisis management and shareholder engagement issues. Cornell is a Fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel and a member of its Board of Trustees.
Cornell is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Adina Notto, Senior Principal, ONEX
Since joining Onex, Adina has worked on Onex Partners’ acquisitions of ASM Global (formerly SMG), Save-A-Lot and Emerald Expositions, as well as its subsequent acquisition of GLM. She remains actively involved with these businesses and focuses on new investment opportunities in the Business Services sector.
Adina currently serves on the board of ASM Global.
Prior to joining Onex, Adina worked in the Financial Sponsors Investment Banking Group at Merrill Lynch in New York and in the Technology, Media & Telecom Investment Banking Group at CIBC in Toronto.
Adina graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.Sc. in Economics (magna cum laude) with a concentration in Finance from the Wharton School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts (magna cum laude) in International Studies from the College of Arts & Science.
