54 Major Renovations, Additions and New Schools Will Support Student Learning
Brampton, ON – August 31, 2017
Students across Ontario will be returning to class in new and improved learning spaces, with more than 50 new and renovated schools opening in communities across the province this fall.
Mitzie Hunter, Minister of Education, visited the new St. Daniel Comboni Catholic Elementary School today to announce the new openings, which include:
25 new elementary and secondary schools
16 new additions to existing schools
13 major renovation projects to existing schools
These new and renovated facilities will provide students with a better place to learn and grow for this school year, and years to come. Together, these schools will also include more than 960 new high-quality, licensed child care spaces to support young children and their families.
These projects are part of the largest infrastructure investment in schools, hospitals, public transit, roads and bridges in Ontario’s history.
Investing in new and renovated schools to create better learning spaces is part of our plan to create jobs, grow our economy and help people in their everyday lives.
