New School Projects Supporting Success of Ottawa Students
Ottawa, ON – June 12, 2017
Ontario is investing in renovations and additions in the Ottawa region to provide students with the best possible learning environments that lay the foundation for their future success.
Education Minister Mitzie Hunter was joined by Bob Chiarelli, MPP for Ottawa West-Nepean, and Nathalie Des Rosiers, MPP for Ottawa-Vanier, at Agincourt Road Public School in Ottawa today to announce eight local school infrastructure projects for the Ottawa area. These projects will provide students with modern facilities that support student learning and help reduce the cost of under-used space. The eight new projects include:
In Ottawa, an addition to Agincourt Road Public School and renovations to Woodroffe Avenue Public School and Pinecrest Public School.
In Nepean, additions to Sir Robert Borden High School and Merivale High School, and renovations to Bell High School and Briargreen Public School.
In Gloucester, renovations to Gloucester High School.
These projects are part of the largest infrastructure investment in schools, hospitals, public transit, roads and bridges in Ontario’s history.
Investing in new and renovated schools is part of the government’s plan to create jobs, grow our economy and help people in their everyday lives.
